Budget

The budget form presents the current year's budget numbers, year to date expense per budget item and projections to yearend plus the previous year and 2 year actual.  You can add, delete or modify items as desired, with the exception of Charitable-Payable and Charitable-Receivable!

The budget form collects information from previous budgets (if any) and the checking account register. On the far left is a check box to "project" that item.  Certain expenses and incomes should be projected, other should not.  You can "play" with the project option to see if it makes sense for a particular item...

At the end of the year, after all dues are received, checking account is reconciled, etc., click the Append to Previous year button near the top to store the current year’s budget numbers.   Then make corrections as needed for the coming year. Lower right shows the current membership dues totals and projects that number to yearend.

Projections are simply calculations based on year to date spending for the given item. If for example it is June and you have spent $600, the projection to yearend calculates $100 per month or $1,200 to the end of the year.

Obviously quarterly items will not have an accurate projection part way through the year.  You can get by this issue by changing the computer date to Dec 31 but be forewarned: If you have any other application open, especially a scheduler, it too will read that future date. Once the date is changed, close then reopen the budget form to see the new yearend projections.
